The Benbow Historic Inn has embarked on a historic renovation project that will complete the vision of the Benbow family as well as add some necessary modern amenities. The new building will include an elevator, ground floor registration, new public restrooms, a banquet room and 3 fully ADA compliant guest suites. A new banquet kitchen will be added to accommodate groups and weddings and, 7 new luxury suites will be added to the 4th floor.
As with all construction projects, challenges and delays arise, but we want to do our best to keep our guests updated on the project as well as give them information about what to expect during their stay. This page will be updated regularly with new information as we have it. We welcome your calls or emails with questions.
For the comfort of our guests, construction work will be done Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 am and 6 pm. At this time, all public areas including the dining room, lounge and lobby are open as usual. Construction areas are fenced and inaccessible for safety. The biggest inconvenience is the absence of our public restrooms, however, we have purchased a VIP Restroom Suite which is located at the front entrance of the hotel.

"Going ape" over this "keen" wallpaper we uncovered. This was on the walls in what was called the Caprice Room in the early 1950's.
Another piece of the wallpaper. We were able to remove some pieces to archive.
This is the room that was once the Caprice Room. Before being gutted, it was our prep kitchen. It will be our new banquet kitchen.
