Today, the Benbow Inn is the most memorable Redwood Coast lodging between San Francisco and Eureka. Come to Benbow Historic Inn on California's north coast in any season — for springtime golf, summer swimming and hiking, fall wine tasting, and a spectacular Christmas Celebration. Our staff looks forward to serving you.

The "Hotel Benbow" opened to the public in July of 1926 and soon became a popular destination resort for motoring tourists traveling up the newly completed Redwood Highway.

Set above the banks of the Eel River, our North Coast Inn's beautiful location and distinctive Tudor design has earned the resort the reputation as a National Treasure and Northern California getaway — intriguing travelers for nine decades.

Benbow Historic Inn is on the National Register of Historic Places and a proud member of Historic Hotels of America.

EV (Electric Vehicle) Charging Station

  • IMG_0571

Sharing our passion for the environment and sustainable living, we invite our guests driving an EV to charge their cars overnight at the Benbow Historic Inn - complimentary, of course. (Please remember to bring the proper cord for your vehicle. We do not have cords to supply.)

While your EV is charging, take a stroll along the Eel River, relax with a glass of wine in our lounge and enjoy a farm-to-table dinner followed by a restful evening in the redwoods.

During the summer months, breakfast, lunch and dinner is served on our outdoor terrace. Don't forget to join us daily for high tea and scones served in the lobby from 3-4 pm.
